Yahoo Groups (previously known as Onelist or eGroups) have been building online communities since the 1990s, long before there was Facebook, Twitter or other such social media. There are apparently about 10 million groups that will all have their archives deleted on December 14, 2019.
Those groups contain many years of important discussions and good advice that could be lost forever when Yahoo deletes all their archives. We have, therefore, started this project to archive as many health-related Yahoo Groups as possible in a way that can be easily downloaded and read at home on your Windows PC, forever. We finance this service entirely through a nominal charge (from $2.99) to download the group archives incl. software and instructions.
While some groups are moving to other platforms (with or without their archives), there are many groups that will otherwise simply disappear when Yahoo presses that "Delete-button." Where possible, we also tell you where these groups have moved to.
The following list shows the Yahoo Groups we have already archived and made available for download on this website. We are still in the process of downloading more groups and if there are any groups missing from this list that are important to you or you see something that needs correcting or adding, please tell us about it using the form below.
Please tell all your friends about this website that may also need a backup of any of these groups. We are adding new groups to the list almost daily, so please come back again to see what is new.
Very Important news as to what is happening to ALL Yahoo Groups.
Yahoo Groups have started the process of winding down their operations and deleting their archives. As of October 28, 2019 it is now no longer possible to upload any more content to the group site and ALL previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed on December 14, 2019. We have until that date to save anything that has been uploaded.
The following features will be permanently deleted on December 14, 2019
- Email Updates
- Message Digest
- Message History
Although it will apparently still be possible to send out messages to other members after December 14, there will no longer be any online archives at all. It will be no more than an email redirection service. This will seriously reduce the usability of the groups as it will no longer be possible to read the previous messages online.
We have already archived all the messages, attachments, files, photos and links from the related Yahoo Groups listed above
If there are any additional Yahoo-Groups that have been missed that need archiving for offline use, please send me the URLs of those groups now, so that they can be downloaded and archived here, before everything gets deleted.
The offline archive used here, makes use of a special Windows software for reading the archives even more easily than on Yahoo Groups. The software is provided free with every group archive ordered from us and can be used as a comfortable means of searching and viewing the existing posts.
You can download and start using the archive files now. We will provide a final version for download on December 15, 2019. You can use the same download link to download the final version at no extra cost with all posts right up to the end.
So offline archiving of those groups has been performed, but how about preserving the YahooGroups as active discussion groups?
We discuss the options on our special page for Groups Owners.
For more details on the deletion of Yahoo Groups, see this official page.
- All Yahoogroups no longer accept uploads and all messages and files will be deleted on December 14, 2019.
- The Rife Forum welcomes new members and have a wide range of sections for freely discussing health-related topics: www.rifeforum.com
Finally, I would like to thank all the members of the Rife Yahoogroup I have run for their thousands of messages helping each other out as a community. I started that group in 1999 at a time when hardly anyone knew about Royal Rife and the only other Rife-List was highly technical. I hope to see you all on The Rife Forum that runs on my own webserver and will continue as long as we can keep the running costs funded.
P.S. If you find something on this website that needs correcting or adding, please use the form below to tell us about it.
