Vendors list
It is intended to gather suppliers of slides, stains and other items
and put them in this file. At the moment the few entries can be considered
a seed list. I have used some but not all.
A few, where I am sure of the location, are separated below by country. Information about those outside the US was given by others and have never been used by me.

Microscopy-Online.com
is not a vendor, but a site that gathers on-line vendors of microscopy related items. The
main listing are arranged at one letter per page, and (as is to be expected) the page for M is huge:
- Cargille. The makers of Cargille immersion oil.
- Grau-Hall Scientific.
A vendor of various supplies including stains.
To find the stains, click on "microscope" in the menu to get a more
detailed menu.
- Surplus Shed. A mixed bag of
items most of which are optical and many of which apply to microscopes. Many items at low prices. A good place to check against for price.
- This line is left here in honor of the retired Klaus Kemp, preparer of diatom slides.
- RoseOptics has some used scopes for sale, but is mainly a service, repair and customization outfit. They also sell a few specialized items such as an alignment tool and an optical path demonstration block.
- TAI lubricants supplies the Nye damping lubricants for that smooth feel on all your knobs and other adjustments. Expensive.
- Micro-Tools carries mostly camera and watch repair tools. They also carry Nye damping greases.
- The Microscope Depot has supplies and accessories such as Canada balsam.
- Spectrum Chemical: large chemical supplier, large selection. e.g., canada balsam (search under candadian balsam), immersion oil, etc.
- Biosupplynet maintains a searchable database of suppliers. I have no idea how deep or complete their database is. Some of the companies they list have generic URLs that lead to "under construction" pages of ISPs and others lead to valid companies that do seem to do business on the net.
- Microscopy Laboratories: a Red Bank, NJ outfit will sell small quantities of stains. Their web page is not up yet, but they can be reached by email at micro@superlink.net.
-
Leeds deals in full scopes, but has a line of custom products that includes objective shims and the like.
-
Bioindustrial suppliers has a suite of catalogs that can be downloaded.
-
Globe Scientific Large outfit with big online presence.
-
Emsdiasum Another large online outfit. Serves light and electron microscope users. Warning: Navigation is difficult as they have several completely independent subunits. Round coverslips (for example) are under
Electron Microscopy Sciences > Products > C > Coverglass > Round
